Dog & Cock Fighting Reward Announced

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and Kansas Attorney General Steven Six recently visited the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City to announce a $5,000 reward program they are now offering. This reward program is for information about dog and/or cock fighting that leads to a conviction.

The HSUS has already paid out 38 of these rewards nationwide. Dog fighting is a felony and cock fighting is a misdemeanor in Kansas. To report information about dog or cock fighting call 202-452-1100.

Meet the Alfinator

Meet my newest foster dog Alfie. He's a typical Chihuahua, three-years-old. He's been at the humane society for more than a year waiting to be adopted. I'm fostering him now to work on his social skills. He gets along great with other small dogs and cats. He's not a fan of large dogs.

Meet Brooklyn

New foster dog alert! Meet Brooklyn, a 3-year-old Shih Tzu. She is my new foster dog and has fit into our lives very easily and quickly! She is blind, but you would never know. She is a real cuddle bug. We're hoping she'll get adopted soon before we get too attached.

Sisters are Adopted Together

Great adoption news -- Thelma & Louise, Shepherd sisters, were adopted together today! The two-year-old sisters have always been together and are inseparable.
